PHASE has been registered with the Charity Commission since September 2005, and since then has grown very quickly, exceeding anticipated outcomes, initiating a proliferation of successful and sustainable projects and generating a huge number of success stories. We currently support programmes in eight communities, and also support a technical cooperation to prevent cervical cancer in Nepal.

PHASE Worldwide works towards improving the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged groups in the world: the inhabitants of remote Himalayan villages.

These are communities with no access to basic services like healthcare and education or even any road transport. PHASE particularly aims to work with the most vulnerable within these communities: women, children, low castes, the very poor and people with disabilities.

Our work in community development can largely be seen as divided in three interconnected areas each of which helps to forward the others:
