Who Are We?
The Team at PHASE Worldwide are a group of dedicated
professionals who are committed to making a difference
through practical help.
Nick Cragg
Nick, a chartered civil engineer by profession, is the Chairman of THE Nicholas Associates group of companies and a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce. An advocate for opportunity and support rather than charity, he devotes a great deal of time and energy to the charitable boards on which he sits. These include Cash for Kids and the Titans Community Foundation.
In 1997, donning his “civil engineer’s” hat , he travelled to a remote region of the Nepalese Himalaya as an advisor to the Duke of Edinburgh Trust. It was a life enhancing trip that left him with a desire to help these proud and resourceful people.
”PHASE is a fusion of talents, energy and ideals that I am very proud to be part
of”
Marie Cragg
Marie's particular interest is in making available opportunities for people to improve themselves and their lives. She started PHASElets, the PHASE under 16's fundraising team , after developing a model that allows children to plan, organise andimplement their own events. As a result two of the children have been awarded the honour of Young Athenians of the Year 2008 and all of them were recognised as Ambassadors for Rotherham for their charity work.
Believing that to get the most from life you have to give back, she involves herself in a number of local and international charities raising money through events as diverse as literary suppers to walking on hot coals.
An avid traveller, Marie became interested in the work being done in rural villages after trekking with Dr Gerda Pohl in Nepalese Himalaya.
Gerda Pohl
Gerda is originally from Austria, but due to her father’s work spent a lot of time outside Europe (mainly in Central and East Africa) as a child, and all through her medical training she had been planning to work in an underdeveloped country.
She came to Nepal almost by accident, but fell in love with the country and its people, and was also overwhelmed by the need for help in its rural communities. She has worked in Nepal for three years, and although she works as a GP in the UK at present, she is going back to Nepal at least twice a year for a month at a time to monitor the work done by PHASE Worldwide.
David Fenton
David got involved with PHASE through the cervical cancer /colposcopy programmes: He was involved in the first workshop in Kathmandu in June 2006 and through his excellent and long standing connections with professional organisations in the UK, he stared raising sponsorship for the ongoing programmes of mutual visits. He became a trustee of PHASE Worldwide in December 2007.
Martin Davis OBE
Martin is our newest Trustee. A short biopic about Martin will appear here shortly.
